I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

The Problem
This time of year, freeze and thaw keep shifting the ground around signage corners. The stone moves every time someone walks across it. Margin depends on efficiency, and efficiency depends on timing. Poor grading turns paths into puddles after every rain.
The Solution
You choose the right stone for drainage and permanence, then schedule delivery. You see the price before you pay, place the order online, and pick a delivery date. The drop is where you need it, the timing is what you scheduled.
The Results
You get a long lasting finish with almost zero maintenance. You get a clean drop and a smoother install, with fewer calls and fewer surprises. Portfolio-quality work. That is the standard you hit.
Where We Come In
Order online, but talk to humans if you need to. Stone delivery with actual customer service.
Get Started with Mulch Mound Today
New York City's landscapes are built on compacted urban fill layered over Manhattan schist bedrock, making quality soil and mulch essential for any serious planting effort. At just 10 feet above sea level, low-lying areas near the Hudson and East River waterfronts face persistent drainage challenges that require well-structured ground cover materials. From the manicured borders of Central Park to the brownstone tree pits lining streets in Brooklyn and the residential yards spreading out toward East Rutherford, consistent material replenishment is simply part of landscape maintenance in this region. Zone 7b conditions bring 47 inches of annual rainfall and a growing window that opens around April 7, meaning the Big Apple's beds are in active use far more months of the year than most people realize.
