I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

You're a DIYer in Oxnard looking for Soil
The Problem
You knew it was coming: spring flooding and mud season drag on around the side yard. It is a blank slate, which is exciting until you realize how much material it takes. You are after that feeling when you step back and it actually looks good. Cheap fill brings weeds, rocks, and problems you did not ask for.
The Solution
You find the right mix for the job and schedule delivery in a few clicks. No hidden fees, no fuel surcharges showing up later. The drop is clean, the timing works, and you are ready to move.
The Results
The planting goes faster because you are not fighting compacted dirt. Your weekend actually produced something you can point to. You would do it again. That is how you know it worked.
Where We Come In
Straightforward process: order soil, pick a date, get a clean drop. No surprises, no wasted time.
Get Started with Mulch Mound Today
Oxnard sits at the edge of the Pacific in the southern Ventura County coastal plain, where salt air rolls in off Channel Islands Harbor and the Santa Clara River delta shapes the flatlands into some of the most productive agricultural soil in California. That same loamy sand that fuels Oxnard's famous strawberry fields can be a liability in home landscapes, draining water and nutrients too quickly for ornamentals and trees to thrive without amendment. Gardeners here work with a generous Zone 10a growing window, but the minimal annual rainfall of just 16 inches means mulch is not optional. Bulk organic mulch locks in what little moisture the sky provides, while quality blended soils give planting beds the body that the native ground often lacks. Whether you are refreshing a coastal cottage yard near the harbor, landscaping a new build in Camarillo, or tackling a sloped property in Port Hueneme where wind and mild erosion are constant concerns, the right materials make the difference between a landscape that merely survives and one that genuinely thrives.
