Most jobs using mason sand also need paver base gravel underneath for drainage and stability, especially given how sandy the native soil already drains here. If you are pouring mortar for block or brick work, pair it with your masonry cement supply, and if you are doing a pool base, a layer of paver base stone below the sand helps keep it from shifting under the liner.
