I had a great experience with Mulch Mound. I had originally ordered from a competitor but they didn’t deliver (pun intended) on the various days they had promised. I was able to get a refund on the order and shop elsewhere. I read the good reviews for this company and decided to give them a try. Bee Cave's shallow soil over rock makes moisture retention the whole ballgame. Rather than tilling deeper, add soil upward in six inch lifts of garden mix and top with three inches of shredded hardwood. That mulch layer cuts evaporation dramatically on those west facing limestone slopes, and it stays put better than bark nuggets when a hillside gets a fast summer storm.
