I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Florin Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
Florin's warm Zone 9b climate and cultural gardening traditions make it a great place for growing herbs like rosemary, lavender, lemon verbena, and Mexican oregano in the landscape rather than purely in pots. Planting these herbs in garden beds amended with bulk sandy loam or well-draining topsoil from MulchMound.com gives them the drainage they need to thrive in Florin's clay-dominant ground. A light gravel mulch around the base of woody herbs also reflects heat, deters weeds, and prevents crown rot during the occasional wet winter.
Need Help Calculating How Much You Need?
Use our NEW bulk material calculator where you can Trace from Satellite imaging to get a quick estimate for your project without busting out the tape measure
Try Our CalculatorFlorin homeowners looking to add permanent structure to their landscapes can use decomposed granite or crushed gravel to define pathways and seating areas between planting beds. These materials handle Florin's clay base well when installed over a compacted base layer and last for years with minimal maintenance. Ordering bulk material from MulchMound.com makes it practical to cover larger areas at once, keeping project costs well below what pavers or concrete would require.

Delivering to Florin, California
Primary ZIP: 95828Florin residents who mulch their front yard trees and shrubs each spring can extend the interval between waterings significantly through the dry summer months. A three to four inch layer of shredded bark mulch applied after the last frost in late February locks moisture into the root zone and keeps soil temperatures from spiking during heat waves. MulchMound.com bulk mulch orders are ideal for covering multiple trees and beds in a single afternoon of work.
