I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Garnet Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
In Garnet, bare ground is a liability because moving sand scours plants and buries walkways. Cover every exposed square foot with a stabilizing layer of 1 inch or larger rock, and use cobble berms across the prevailing wind line to break the surface flow. Grouped shrub plantings slow the air further once established. Total coverage, not partial, is what stops sand from migrating through the yard.

Try Our CalculatorWind in Garnet strips moisture from foliage faster than roots can replace it, so irrigation timing matters more than volume. Water in the early morning before daily gusts build, and skip midday cycles that mostly evaporate. Deep soaks two or three times a week beat daily sprinkles in our sandy loam. Group plants with similar water needs on the same valve so nothing gets overwatered to keep a neighbor alive.

Choose plants for Garnet that shrug off abrasion rather than fighting it. Creosote, brittlebush, desert lavender, and Mojave sage all handle blowing sand with tough, small leaves. Avoid broadleaf shrubs and thin barked young trees on the windward side, where sand acts like sandpaper on stems. Stake new trees low and loose so trunks flex and build strength instead of snapping above a rigid tie.
Get Started with Mulch mound Today
Garnet occupies the windy corridor near the pass, surrounded by turbines and open desert. Properties here contend with relentless airflow and drifting sand across every exposed surface. Landscape material choices lean toward heavy rock and stabilized surfacing that will not blow away. MulchMound delivers bulk gravel, cobble, and soil to Garnet addresses along the Indian Canyon and Highway 111 corridor.
