Greenwood sits at just 128 feet above sea level on the Yazoo River, and that Delta flatness shapes every landscaping decision here. The silt loam left behind by centuries of flooding grows cotton beautifully, but it packs tight under foot traffic and holds water long after the 54 inches of annual rain has stopped falling.
