I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your River Road Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
River Road properties often border open fields or agricultural land, and weed pressure from invasive species can be relentless from early spring through late summer. Laying cardboard directly over bare soil before spreading 3 to 4 inches of wood chip mulch creates a two-layer barrier that blocks most annual weeds without relying on herbicides. Refreshing that mulch layer each spring before new growth begins keeps the system working year after year and reduces the hours spent pulling weeds from garden beds.

Try Our CalculatorRiver Road properties tend to have silty clay soil that benefits enormously from regular organic matter additions. Bulk compost worked into beds each fall breaks down through winter and improves soil structure by planting time in spring. Because River Road sits in a low area of the valley that collects cold air and holds moisture, well-amended soil drains faster and warms more quickly in March and April, giving transplants a noticeable head start.
Choosing the right mulch color makes a real visual difference on River Road properties, where open sight lines and wide lots give landscaping plenty of exposure. Dark brown or black bark mulch provides strong contrast against the greens of lawn and foliage, while red-toned decorative bark complements homes with warm brick or cedar siding. River Road's frequent overcast skies from October through April actually make darker mulch tones appear richer and more saturated than in sunnier climates.

The River Road corridor stretches north from Eugene along the Willamette, passing through a mix of hobby farms, rural properties, and established neighborhoods shaded by large, mature trees. Residents along this stretch often manage significantly more land than typical urban homeowners, making bulk material delivery a practical necessity rather than a convenience. Whether a project calls for yards of compost to enrich sprawling garden beds or gravel to define a long country driveway, MulchMound delivers reliably to addresses throughout the corridor. The rural character of River Road pairs naturally with landscape materials that feel at home in the surroundings.
