I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Sheffield Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
Sheffield residents with sloped or terraced yards should think carefully about drainage stone placement before the rainy season ramps up. Because the Florence region receives roughly 57 inches of rain per year, poorly managed runoff can erode planting beds and wash away topsoil quickly. Installing a crushed gravel drainage channel along the base of slopes, using material delivered in bulk by MulchMound.com, is a cost-effective way to redirect water and protect your landscape investment.

Try Our CalculatorSheffield gardeners planting perennials or ornamental shrubs should take time each spring to top off mulched beds after winter rains have settled and thinned the existing layer. In zone 8a, perennials begin pushing new growth shortly after the last frost on March 16, and a fresh two to three inch layer of mulch applied at that point helps warm the soil, lock in moisture, and keep early season weeds from competing with emerging plants. MulchMound.com bulk delivery makes spring bed refresh simple and affordable.

Delivering to Sheffield, Alabama
Primary ZIP: 35660Sheffield homeowners with new construction landscapes often deal with poor quality subsoil left behind after grading. Before establishing turf or planting beds, spreading four to six inches of quality topsoil across affected areas gives grass seed and plants a workable growing medium rather than compacted fill material. Ordering bulk topsoil from MulchMound.com ensures you have the volume to cover large areas evenly in a single delivery, saving time and avoiding the hassle of repeated small purchases.
Get Started with Mulch mound Today
Sheffield's historic neighborhoods and well-established tree canopy create a landscape environment that rewards thoughtful soil and mulch management. Mature trees drop significant leaf litter each season, but supplemental hardwood mulch from MulchMound.com provides the consistent coverage needed to suppress weeds and retain moisture year-round. Bulk delivery is especially practical in Sheffield, where narrower residential streets make multiple small loads far less convenient than a single large drop. With 57 inches of annual rainfall in the region, proper mulching also helps manage erosion on sloped lots.
