At a 1 inch depth, one cubic yard covers about 324 square feet, so a typical paver joint job or small mortar mixing project rarely needs more than a yard or two. For pool bases or thicker beds up to 2 inches, plan on roughly half that coverage per yard. Measure your square footage first, then work backward from the 1.35 tons per yard density if you need to know approximate weight for site access.
