I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Edgemoor properties near the Delaware River corridor can experience erosion on sloped sections of the yard, especially given the region's nearly 49 inches of annual rainfall. Applying a thick layer of shredded wood mulch on slopes and anchoring it with erosion control netting before the wet fall season begins is an affordable and effective solution. MulchMound.com can deliver the bulk mulch volume needed to cover even steep or expansive hillside areas in a single drop.

Try Our CalculatorEdgemoor homeowners with vegetable or perennial gardens benefit from incorporating bulk compost into beds each spring before planting begins. The silt loam soil common in this area can become compacted and nutrient-depleted over growing seasons, and a two to three inch compost incorporation restores structure and microbial activity. MulchMound.com delivers compost and blended garden soil in bulk quantities that make it easy to prep multiple beds before the last frost passes in late March.

Delivering to Edgemoor, Delaware
Primary ZIP: 19809Fall lawn care in Edgemoor should include overseeding thin turf areas no later than mid-September to allow new grass to establish before the November 5 frost. Broadcasting a tall fescue blend suited to Zone 7a after core aeration and following up with a light screened topsoil topdressing from MulchMound.com gives seed the best possible germination environment. A dense lawn going into winter is far less susceptible to weed pressure the following spring.
