I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Pitman Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
Clean bed edging makes a dramatic difference in how landscaping reads in Pitman's tight residential lots, where front yards sit just a few feet from neighbors and passersby. Use a flat spade or rotary edger to cut a defined trench 2 to 3 inches deep along the border between turf and mulch beds before your bulk delivery arrives. That crisp physical edge keeps mulch from spreading onto the lawn, prevents grass from creeping into the bed, and gives the entire yard a polished, finished appearance without any additional hardscaping expense.

Try Our CalculatorMulch depth management is a detail that pays off in Pitman landscapes where beds are close to the home's foundation. Applying mulch too thick, beyond three inches, can hold excess moisture against siding or brick, encourage pests, and create conditions for root rot in shrubs planted near the house. In Pitman's Zone 7b climate, two inches is usually sufficient through summer, and keeping a clear gap of two to three inches between mulch and any structural surface protects your home while still delivering full moisture and weed suppression benefits.
Delivering to Pitman, New Jersey

Incorporating native plantings into Pitman landscapes reduces the long-term maintenance load while supporting local pollinators and wildlife. Native species like black-eyed Susan, coneflower, and little bluestem grass are adapted to South Jersey's 45-inch annual rainfall and Zone 7b winters, meaning they rarely need supplemental watering once established. They also tend to root more deeply into the sandy loam soils common in this region, which makes them more drought-tolerant during the dry spells that often come in July and August.
Get Started with Mulch mound Today
Pitman is a small, walkable borough in Gloucester County with a strong community spirit and a stock of Victorian-era and early twentieth century homes that give its streetscape genuine character. Homeowners here often work within narrow side yards and compact front beds where every detail is visible from the sidewalk. Bulk mulch deliveries allow residents to cover those beds consistently and affordably year after year without piecing together inadequate quantities from a hardware store. MulchMound makes it straightforward to get the right material to Pitman properties, whether the project is a single bed or a full-yard refresh.
