I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Citrus Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
Citrus residents growing actual citrus trees should mulch a wide ring extending at least three feet from each trunk with bulk wood chip mulch, which stabilizes soil temperature and conserves the moisture these trees rely on during hot inland summers. Avoid piling mulch against the trunk itself, as this can harbor pests and promote crown rot in the warm climate. Ordering wood chip mulch in bulk from MulchMound.com makes it economical to treat every tree on a multi-tree property without cutting corners on coverage width.

Try Our CalculatorCitrus residents who have clay-heavy soil in their yards should apply bulk compost each fall to planting areas beyond the citrus grove, particularly in vegetable beds and ornamental borders that need improved drainage and fertility heading into the growing season. Clay soil in this region tends to compact hard by midsummer and benefits from regular organic matter additions that keep it productive year after year. A bulk compost order from MulchMound.com delivers enough material to amend multiple areas across your Citrus property in one convenient delivery.

Delivering to Citrus, California
Primary ZIP: 91740In Citrus, where water bills climb steeply through long inland summers, replacing turf strips along driveways and property borders with decomposed granite and low-water plants is one of the highest-return water-saving upgrades a homeowner can make. Zone 10a conditions mean warm-season turf demands irrigation for most of the year, while a decomposed granite conversion requires almost none once established. MulchMound.com bulk decomposed granite deliveries make it practical for Citrus homeowners to complete large conversion areas without the cost of repeated retail purchases.
