I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Muscoy Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
Muscoy homeowners looking to reduce lawn irrigation costs should consider replacing water-hungry turf sections with decorative gravel or decomposed granite hardscape zones. In a climate zone 10a area receiving just fifteen inches of rain annually, even a partial lawn-to-gravel conversion can cut outdoor water use noticeably and lower monthly bills. MulchMound.com delivers bulk decomposed granite and gravel in quantities sized for any yard, making the transition practical even for larger Muscoy properties.

Try Our CalculatorMuscoy homeowners with clay-dominant soil should apply bulk compost to all planting beds each fall to break up compaction and improve drainage before winter rains arrive. Clay soil that has not been amended tends to shed water rather than absorb it during heavy rain events, which leads to runoff and pooling rather than productive ground moisture. Working a two to three inch layer of compost into the top twelve inches of clay each season gradually transforms the soil structure over time. MulchMound.com delivers bulk compost at prices that make annual amendment affordable for Muscoy properties.

Delivering to Muscoy, California
Primary ZIP: 92407Because Muscoy falls in growing zone 10a with only a brief frost window, warm-season trees and shrubs planted here benefit from a consistent year-round mulch layer rather than seasonal application. Keeping two to three inches of wood chip mulch over root zones through every month helps clay soil retain uniform moisture and prevents the surface cracking that damages shallow feeder roots during dry stretches. MulchMound.com bulk wood chip deliveries make it economical to maintain full coverage across Muscoy yards without frequent reordering.
