I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your DuPont Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
In DuPont, where HOA landscaping standards are common, controlling weed pressure in ornamental beds is a year-round priority. Laying a professional-grade landscape fabric beneath two to three inches of bulk bark mulch creates a dual barrier that suppresses weeds without smothering perennial root systems. Order enough mulch from MulchMound.com to cover all beds at once, because a uniform application depth is far more effective than spot treatments and keeps DuPont yards looking consistently sharp.

Try Our CalculatorDuPont gardeners planting new ornamental trees along streets or within HOA common areas should amend the backfill soil with compost before setting each tree in the ground. DuPont's gravelly sandy loam provides excellent drainage but offers little organic matter to support root establishment in the first critical year. Mixing one part bulk compost with two parts native backfill soil creates a transition zone that roots move through easily as they expand outward into surrounding ground over the following seasons.

Delivering to DuPont, Washington
Primary ZIP: 98327Fall is the ideal season for DuPont homeowners to reseed thin or patchy lawn areas before HOA inspections during the spring growing season draw attention to bare spots. Spreading a perennial ryegrass blend in mid-October and topdressing with a quarter inch of screened compost gives seed the moisture retention and contact needed to germinate well before the November 5 first frost. DuPont lawns treated this way come out of winter noticeably thicker and greener than those left bare through the cold months.
