I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Orting Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
Orting gardeners blessed with that productive valley soil can maximize vegetable yields by building dedicated raised bed systems filled with a custom blended growing medium. A mix of bulk compost and screened topsoil ordered from MulchMound.com creates a loose, nutrient-rich environment that warm season crops like tomatoes and squash absolutely thrive in. Raised beds also heat up faster in spring, which is valuable when you are working around a last frost date of March 20 in the Orting area.

Try Our CalculatorOrting homeowners with mature trees and shrubs should plan a structured fall mulching routine before the November 5 first frost. Spreading three inches of bulk wood chip or bark mulch from MulchMound.com around the drip line of established trees protects feeder roots from freeze damage and helps soil retain the moisture those roots depend on through dry stretches. Avoid piling mulch directly against the trunk to prevent rot and pest pressure that can weaken otherwise healthy Orting landscape trees.

Delivering to Orting, Washington
Primary ZIP: 98360Pathway and patio projects in Orting benefit from a proper compacted gravel base before any decorative surface material is applied. Laying four to six inches of crushed base gravel from MulchMound.com and compacting it in lifts creates a stable foundation that resists settling during Orting's wet winters. Skipping this step is one of the most common reasons pavers and stepping stones shift and become uneven within a season or two of installation.
