I used Mulch Mound to have 3 cubic yards of garden soil delivered. The process was easy and I love that I didn't have to call anyone. I placed my order online, picked my delivery date, laid out my tarp and the dirt was delivered. My delivery had to be pushed back, but I was kept informed via text, which was great. So why not 5 stars? The description of garden soil on the website is "A balanced mix of topsoil and organic amendments ready for raised beds, flower gardens, and new planting areas. Good drainage, solid nutrients, easy to work with." What I got was more like fill dirt. It had a lot of gravel, a lot of clay, and random trash mixed in. I didn't test the soil to see if it actually had "amendments" because I already have compost and alpaca manure ready to add, but if I'd known the quality of the dirt was going to be the same as the bagged dirt I bought last year, I probably would have gotten 2 yards of top soil and a yard of leaf compost for better quality, especially since the leaf compost is cheaper. Photo of my mountain of dirt and just some of the trash I found in it.

Complete Your Bonita Outdoor Project
We’ve got you covered with our full line of landscape supply products, from premium mulch and quality soil to decorative stone, helping you create a cohesive, professional landscape that enhances your property for years to come.
Bonita's mature tree canopy is one of its defining features, and caring for those trees starts at the root zone. Spreading a wide ring of bulk wood chip mulch, extending at least three feet from the trunk and two to three inches deep, mimics the natural leaf litter that forest soils depend on for nutrients and moisture retention. Avoid piling mulch directly against the bark, as this can promote rot. A single bulk delivery can cover the root zones of multiple large trees in one visit.

Try Our CalculatorBonita's warm inland climate and reliable summer heat make water conservation a priority for most homeowners. Converting lawn areas to drought-tolerant groundcovers and topping planting beds with a four inch layer of bulk wood chip mulch can cut outdoor water use significantly. The mulch slows evaporation from the soil surface during the long dry stretch between May and November, meaning irrigation cycles can be reduced without stressing plants. A single bulk delivery covers a surprising amount of ground compared to bagged products.

Delivering to Bonita, California
Primary ZIP: 91902Bonita homeowners with vegetable gardens often find that soil quality drops over multiple growing seasons as nutrients are depleted. Incorporating bulk compost into raised beds and in-ground vegetable plots each spring before planting restores organic matter and feeds the microbial life that makes nutrients available to plant roots. In Bonita's alluvial soil, which drains quickly, a generous application of two to four inches of compost tilled to a six inch depth makes a measurable difference in plant vigor and yield.
Get Started with Mulch Mound Today
Bonita is a lush, semi-rural community where mature trees, horse properties, and generously sized yards give it a distinctive character among San Diego County's unincorporated neighborhoods. Demand for bulk mulch and soil amendments runs high here because maintaining large garden beds and pasture edges by hand is simply not practical with bagged materials. MulchMound.com delivers throughout Bonita with ease, bringing cubic yards of compost, wood chips, and gravel directly to where you need them. Our reliable scheduling keeps landscaping projects on track from start to finish.
